Managerial Finance:
Domestic & Global Perspectives
Domestic & Global Perspectives
In, “Beyond Firewalls: The Strategic Value of Information Security,” I explore some financial implications presented by information security failures within modern organizations. I argue that information security serves a critical role not only in protecting digital infrastructure but also in preserving long-term profitability, market value, and organizational resilience.
I chose to include this artifact because it pushed beyond the technical aspects of information security to observe the broader financial realities that organizations face. Working with clients across various industries, I have long understood the operational importance of cybersecurity, particularly in high-risk sectors like finance and healthcare.
This project reinforced my belief that information security functions as a strategic investment within organizations rather than a routine IT cost. Moreover, it left me with a deeper appreciation for how technical decisions can significantly influence financial outcomes for organizations.
